As a lifetime DC area native, I'm so happy you enjoyed DC so much! It's too bad you couldn't have stayed in the area longer, because there are so many great (and free) museums to visit. I hope some day you can return and spend more time here.

And it seems that there are sizable Iranian populations in most major cities: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian-American#Demography

You wouldn't happen to remember the names of the restaurants you went to, would you?

And did you have any cameras to take pictures to commemorate your visit? I hope so. :)

Yes, I wish I could visit the museums too. Our major goal was the cherry blossom though. For visiting the city itself, we will have to plan another journey :)

By the way, the name of that restaurant we went for dinner was Amoo's Kabob. (It means "Uncle's Kabob"). I tried "Koobideh Kabob" there. That kabob was better than the one we had for lunch. For lunch, we went to "Moby Dick's house of kabob".

i'm glad you enjoyed yourself!

omg, i love love love amoo's kebab, but i can never ever get there because i don't have a car. i went there for my birthday this year, my boyfriend was kind enough to rent a car for the occasion. it's called "the best food around" and it really is!

heh, it's funny that you think the dc subway is dirty, because my only experience with subways had been the chicago, nyc, and philly ones, and all 3 are soooo much dirtier and scarier than the dc one. probably because dc gives a $100 fine to people who eat on the train.

What a great story! I wish you posted pictures, I'd love to see the festival from your perspective. Glad you had fun!

Washington D.C. sounds wonderful. I miss Iranian kebab although Turkish ones are good too. But there's no cuceh (or however you spell it) kebab. :(

Once again, we almost collide!

I'm glad you had fun in DC. More than I, apparently. :-)

Someday we'll actually meet in the same space and time! :-)
