Today I welcomed a new addition to my furniture. A cute old coffee table, which I just realized I needed so much! I bought it from CraigsList for just $9. Isn't that cool? And the owner delivered it to my door. Now I have a place to put my laptop when I'm leaning back in the sofa. And there's my chocolate bowl full of kisses on one corner, and my ( Read more... )

I went to a concert in Greensburg PA and went to Steve and Barry's, but I'm not sure how far that is from Pittsburgh. But everything is under 8 dollars.

How much are you willing to pay for your clothes? Give me an idea, and I'll tell you where you can get stuff.

Hmmm don't laugh but I'd want new simple Tees for around 6-7! I'd like to get nice summer-stle short sleeves for 10-12 and other stuff at a similar scale. But I like lots of diversity in colors and patterns too.
Do you know any place that matches these?!

Your best bet might be to look for second-hand stores. I buy a lot of my clothes that way, and I've never been let down by it.

Make sure that the place you're looking for is reputable, however. You might try looking at yelp.com for good store locations. If that doesn't help, then let me know.

I have found amazing prices at Marshall's, located in the North Hills never-ending shopping district of McKnight Road. Levi's jeans for only $11? Unbelievable! I cannot speak for women's tops clothing, however, but it seems that Marshall's gets the left over stock from higher-end clothing stores that were unable to sell out, or left over as seasonal inventory changes, and thus can sell name brands at ridiculous discounts.

Good luck turning your house into a home. I have always really enjoyed 'playing house' and can only assume how much fun it must be for you.

North Hills is too far. And with Pittsburgh streets so winding, I'm sure I'll be lost before I get there. Maybe I should check out the Marshall's in the Waterfront.. hmmm

And yeah, my house has turned into a nice cozy "home". I love it!

There's a Marshall's at the Waterfront? Oh yes I completely forgot! I think I looked for shoes there once. That was another tip, a friend got Nikes for an incredible price. (Otherwise I would never pay so much for shoes with soles that wear out just as fast as ones costing a fraction of the price)

Having grown up in the North Hills slants my perspective on what is 'close' to the CMU area.

Hoping you find many generous friends with transportation. It's good to share. :)
