Strangely he leaves me alone when I sleep on the couch. But I'm not abandoning the bed.

you should get him a teddy bear or something... to keep him company :) probably won't work, but the idea of a kitten snuggling with a stuffed bear makes me smile.

I think he would be afraid of it. I have a teddy bear on my bed but he just ignores it. He does like to play with my crochet Mario star though...

You only THINK he can't do it. Eventually he'll figure it out.

(We used to play fetch with Kaylie by throwing her mice on top of the bookcases, but right now they're too covered with crap. Although she never managed it from the ground--had to jump off a table.)

Cats do eventually adjust to our silly habit of sleeping at night. The second cat may or may not be a good idea, depending on how much he likes other cats (and the cats do get pretty expensive long-term).
