Holy crap. It's been awhile since I've ficc'd.

I think I needed a pleasant distraction for myself. And this seemed...well...not easy, but at least a fun challenge.

Part 2 will probably be posted next weekend.

I actually did some light editing to the parts I posted in the comment thread, mostly because there were some clunker lines in there.

I swear, I spend more time editing what I wrote than I do actually writing it by a factor of three. (Sad but true.)

I lot of the writing style above isn't my usual, so I'm glad to see the good response.

I honestly don't see it going beyond two parts, unless LJ is a bear again and won't let me post the second part in its entirety.

Yay! Thank you!

I generally haven't written short-story humor (I tend to write long, plotty fics), so this is a huuuuuge stretch for me.

I'm glad all the character voices ring true.

Thank you! It's gratifying to read. I can write humorous exchanges, but maintaining it through an entire fic is hard.

You really should give the series a shot. The whole thing is available on HuluPlus (assuming you have it).

The way I've described it is: The Kids in the Hall had an illegitimate love-child with Friends and The Twilight Zone in a odd kind of three-way.

I actually didn't give it a chance until last year when I stumbled across their alternative reality episode. I got totally hooked.
