Yesterday at work someone bought Kombucha and Emergen-C, the fizzing vitamin drink. I told him, "Seriously, DO NOT drink those together." I meant to say something like, "just kidding" but I forgot. You could tell them that the kombucha metabolizes the minerals and the result is a toxin that will give them the shits sooooooo bad (and if they say we already have those minerals in our body, say that they are absorbed rather quickly, and that having that concentration of minerals in the stomach is unusual. The normally low concentration of the those minerals found in our stomach/small intestine will also be metabolized by the kombucha, but the amount of toxin produced is so small that we don't notice it. But take a vitamin or anything along with the kombucha, and you've got yourself a date with some porcelain and a good book.)

Or better yet, you could say it metabolizes the gasses that are produced that make the fizz.

i think you could probably convince people kombucha alone is poison. i mean, i like it, but it's an acquired taste. i might have believed it was poison in a really tired or gullible moment.
