This story on a FDA approval for a vaccine for cervical cancer might have slipped through the cracks in light of the big news of the day (the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi). The vaccine is somewhat more important, IMO.

This is an interesting article on infant mortality in the US. Apparently, among the "developed" countries, the US has the 2nd highest mortality rate for infants less than 24 hours old.

Every time I read a story about hard-core Muslim extremism, after the initial prickle of frustration, I realize that Christianity was no different 500-1500 years ago.
