I'm back from Tahoe. I rode the entire 100 miles and lived to tell about it! I think I'd worked it up in my mind to be much harder than it was. Not that it was not a difficult ride, it was, but it was managable. On Saturday we had our last training ride as a team. We rode in Northern Connecticut and did 74 miles. It was a very tough ride. The entire ride it seemed was rolling hills, and it was very windy as well. I wasn't feeling well that day, which only added to my misery. I cried, a lot. Well, we got rained out this weekend. We had planned to do a 75-mile ride on Saturday, then had planned a tentative ride of the same length out of Windham, NH but that got cancelled as well. The weather just did not co-operate. It's been raining for a week straight, and this weekend some communities saw a foot of rain and lots of flooding. ( Read more... )

We rode 71 miles yesterday! It was very tough because there were many hills to climb and a headwind that seemed to be against me the whole way. I was struggling the whole time. I think part of that is improper nutrition - I had very little to eat and it was of low quality. I was irritable and feeling very down on myself. I have to quit doing ( Read more... )

Yesterday we rode to Mt. Wachusett from Boxboro. The cue sheet was off on mileage almost from the begining. It said the ride was to be 60 miles but it was actually 70! Saturday the 22nd we rode 56 miles through Franconia Notch in NH. It was the toughest ride yet. In fact, I would say that this ride tested my physical abilities and endurance more than anything I have ever experienced in my life! The second half of the ride was very trying.
