I am seriously, seriously enjoying the Emmys. Mainly because I am a dork. From the opening number to Jimmy Fallon's musical tribute to the songs we lost, it has (I have to say) actually been funny. God love Jane Lynch. God love John Lithgow. God love Tina Fey.

The House went into urgency this week, which means that they sit extended hours, and keep going until whatever legislation is in the urgency motion gets done. Normally, the House sits Tues-Thurs. So, solve a little dispute between me and a coworker. In Gone with the Wind, when Scarlett pulls some sort of root vegetable out of the ground and does the whole "as God is my witness" speech, what is the root vegetable? I say potato. Ok, there's nothing funny about this but the obvious. I'm quite sure the World Taekwondoe Foundation named itself long before the onset of text speak, but you'd think the journalist, at least, would have the good sense to use the whole name, instead of the initials.

Man, I mean it's nice and all to live in "society" again instead of the tropical wildnerness but the lack of American goods here baffles. That, and the fact that no one on the internet wants to ship here.
