Thanks for the warning, AND for the little alert-bar-thingy that pops up when you come in.

ESPECIALLY thanks for the link on the alert-bar-thingy that lets you know what time that is where you live. Arizona is in the Mountain Time Zone geographically, but since we don't have Daylight Savings Time here, it gets confusing as to what time zone Arizona is in in relation to the actual time. For instance, according to that web site, 3:30 PM PST is 3:30 PM here, even though it would be 4:30 MST.

It's nice not having to worry about setting clocks back or forward, but it's irritating that we have to adjust to everyone else in the country.

I personally don't see the point in DST. As Americans we now spend almost 3/4s of our year on non-standard time.

I favor remaining on so-called DST year-round. Changing the clocks serves no f'n purpose, and we're a mostly urban nation that wants more light later in the day.

Son, you're talking about TEXAS here! We're on Central time! Now be nice or we might secede again and take all our oil with us! (But fortunately most of us are smart enough to interpolate Central time from the list.)

2) I'm in Nebraska, so we're as flown-over as you are.

3) I can interpolate with the best of them. However, as I read further in the Comments, I was brought to realize that the whole world puts up with this Yank-centeredness all the time and so I don't feel quite so left out.

Is EST European Standard Time? American Eastern Standard Time? Australian Eastern Standard Time? UTC times would be much better because those abbreviations apply to time zones in multiple areas (just like CST can stand for Chamorro Standard Time)…
