For those that don't read Russian, Google translate says that ScrapBook and the new Photo Album service won't be able to coexist. As beta users, we can request that our ScrapBook images be transferred to Photo Album by commenting to this entry with a "+".
PhotoAlbum is expected to go live in the next release and ScrapBook images will still be accessible via their direct URLs, but ScrapBook itself will not be in the menus.
But not exactly. Old ScrapBook won't be available to anyone after migration process is done. And new links for images will be different. But no need to worry about links - everything will be redirected.
Also, about timing. Migration for each user will take from 2 seconds to 2 minutes (depending on images number).
And also migration process is irreversible.
By the way, this new photohosting still will be named in English as ScrapBook.
Thank you rebelsheart for translating. It's a pity that LiveJournal staff didn't have the courtesy to do the same.
I've clearly missed a memo or three, because I had no idea that my Scrapbook had disappeared until I went to look for it after reading this post. If only I'd made a note of the direct url!
Obviously, because I want to be able to see my images again, I will be responding with the requested "+" but it begs the question - what happens to those who haven't read these updates and don't opt in with the "+" reply? Will they lose all their albums?
If you want your images transferred early, before the mass-release and migration sometime in the next week or two, you can reply here with a +. If you don't want your images transferred yet you can just wait until the full release when they'll be transferred along with everyone else's.
I'm going to wait. I have a couple galleries that I'd like to organize, and I'm going to hope that the order I set in old ScrapBook holds when the photos get transferred to new ScrapBook.
Haha, I'm part of this staff. Actually, we are prepairing large English post and it soon will be released.
About those who haven't read - they won't loose anything, if they had images in new ScrapBook - those images will become available after official automatic migration (as good as those, migrated from old ScrapBook).
As a longstanding Permanent user I am concerned over this, and don't understand how much of my current album storage will be affected; obviously I want them saved and transferred so " +" but please help me to understand what is happening here?

Livejournal seems to be a service that learned to say, "No f**ks given, but here are two very rare birds I can give you." Yet we haven't learned to say the same thing.

Don't ever use 'haha' in a business setting. It sounds as though you said, "We have been playing a little joke on you."

And that's one of the more polite ways you could read it. Given the context, it gave the whole comment more of a 'bitch, please' feel to me.

В первую очередь вопрос: были ли картины Гойи в приватном доступе? Был ли альбом Крёйера приватным?
