Any word on why there is interest censoring?

That was going to be my question too. It rather looks like the new LiveJournal, Inc is following the Six Apart model of communication with LJ users.

My hope is that this was in the works prior to the handoff; I am hoping we can pin this on 6A as well, in the interest of consolidating our problems.

This isn't actually new, as far as I know; this interest blocking has been happening for a while. I first encountered it about 1-2 months ago, I think.

Don't blame LJ, Inc. for these things. It's annoying and silly, but it's not something new.

I must say, two seems like an awfully small number, especially compared to the millions of users on the site. Maybe there should be representatives from, like, each server or something. Ooh, and a Senate. And some Schoolhouse Rock songs.

"Millions of accounts"--but less than 1 million updating in the last month. (Which is still a lot to be represented by 2 people, but somewhat less ridiculous.)

I second the recommendation for Schoolhouse Rock songs, though.

Yeah, good call. I figured there was a smaller percentage of active accounts. But even with a million users...okay, I was going to make an argument, but Texas has 32 Representatives for twenty million people, which is 1.6 Representatives for a million people. Maybe two isn't so off the mark after all? Besides, everyone only gets two Senators.

I think the execution is going to be the most important matter. Just like we can't expect any of our Representatives or Senators to represent our opinions if we don't know them, whoever is elected to the Board needs to be willing to hear people's voices.

And, oh my God! The corruption! What if you're not on their flist? Will your opinion even MATTER?? This will be interesting. But the constant conference calls and one physical meeting sure sound like the LJ members of the Board will be able to fight for users' rights.

I'm just a bill
Yes, I'm only a bill
And I'm sitting here on Telegraph Hill

Well, it's a long, long journey
To the capital city.
It's a long, long wait
While I'm sitting in committee,
But I know I'll be a law someday
At least I hope and pray that I will,
But today I am still just a bill.

That's, um, my only contribution. I just felt like someone had to continue the song.
