If someone is considered a covenant breaker, is their whole family supposed to stop talking to them?

The short answer to that is yes, or they run the risk of being declared Covenant Breakers themselves. The full answer is more complicated and nuanced, I'm sure.

Seems to me the reason for avoiding Covenant Breakers is that it is such a contagious disease.
