Oh this turned out so well! I really like what you did with it. Let me know if you want me to read more. This is her truth. I really love how that line works.
This is really good, with the Doctor so manic and desperate and volatile, and Rose with her right-here, right-now, any-landing-is-a-good-one serenity. I can believe in this.
Of all the post JE fics I've read - and believe me, there have been a lot - this is the one that rings the most true. You've really captured his bi-polar nature, despair to mania to being completely lost. And I love your Rose - hanging on, not knowing who she is going to need to be from one moment to the next, but doing her absolute best to be his friend/lover/wife/confidant/mother - just loving him and hanging on.
I like that you had him have moment of sadness over River Song. I didn't really understand the fandom's severe and instant dislike of her. I rather pitied her - did she wonder in those last moments if the only reason he was with her was because he had to be for the integrity of the timeline.
Finally, and to sum up - this line is one of the most beautiful I've read - There was only this moment, this air she breathed, this man she loved, this sky beneath her bed. It was "this sky beneath her bed" that did me in - that imagery is gorgeous.
