week 2: electric boogalo
today marks beginning of 3rd week home.
i am off the pain meds. the digestive system is mostly under control (save for KFC binge... i had to have it!). I'm able to sleep normally now... rolling onto either side without pain.

well i'm home.
Doctor Hayes said i lost about 700ccs of blood... and that my uterus was so enlarged and misshapen she had to remove the two largest fibroids before they could remove it.
My ovaries are intact and she said they were excellent.
Hospital stay was a bit more trying... the bed was crappy and it was always cold... i took percocet on a ( Read more... ) -

My pap smear came back and it was... abnormal. A follow-up test has her concerned enough to send me to another obstetrician for a colposcopyWe are not amused. We are thinking too much and starting to freak ourselves out... so instead of the ( Read more... ) -

I would like to preface this by saying that overall this visit was amusing... for at one point I'm on the table, feet in the stirrups, mid-exam... and we're talking about the NFL Officials strike and importance of competent referees in any sport. Well, yesterday I had my appointment with Dr. Hayes. Rather than just come right and say "my fibroids are back and they're big and please remove my uterus now" we talked about my concerns, what I was experiencing, and then talked about what options-- temporary and long term-- were available.
