Well, we had a bit of a sad weekend, as we lost one of our rats. Grievy (Shadow's brother) came down with Murine Respiratory Mycoplasmosis (a respiratory disease quite common in rats), and it progressed to his lungs despite aggressive antibiotic treatment. Some years ago when a faithful parakeet (yes, parakeet) died, I had a little grave marker made (at a real grave marker place) and buried him in a pet cemetery. People snickered, but that bird had been a wonderful companion.
I hope Shadow gets better soon and you'll be able to get a new playmate for him.

Hopefully Shadow can adapt. I know my friend's hamster died, and his other one died soon after of sadness. Of course, they didn't get a new hampster to even take his/her mind off of it.
