I'm thrilled for you that work is going well, and fitting so well into your life. That's marvelous!

That ink drawing really is gorgeous. What a wonderful gift.

I love baking, too, but unfortunately have no one to give them to. I end up eating most of them myself. :/

Thanks! It's been a hectic few months, but fortunately, good.

I know the feeling about baking. I eat way too many of the finished products myself!

I saw Mockingjay this week as well, and pretty much ditto what you said. I was impressed at how quickly and well they defined Katniss' PTSD, and Finnick's; and at how the media itself is a character in the story, one that warps everyone. And since the third book was my least-favorite, I'm just really glad that I still find the movie version of this story to be compelling.

"The Hanging Tree" scene at the lake, and then moving on to the attack on the dam... that whole sequence was pretty awesome. I may watch the movie again, mostly for that part.

I know- that's what I really want to see it for again, too. It was amazing.

I love your point about the media being its own character. I think that's a great way of stating it, and I loved the moment where they basically made the propos into a trailer for the movie- it was such a wink at how our media isn't so different.

MiniPlu is DYING to see Mockingjay, but I'm sticking to the rule of "You cannot see the movie until you've read the book" and she's not through the midway point yet. (The only exception: Divergent, which she saw on a plane. Really no getting around that - BUT! it inspired her to READ the book, and that's when she discovered she liked post-apocalyptic stories, so it was a win anyway ( ... )

Has she had a chance to see it now yet? :) (Considering it's been a week since you wrote this...) That's always great when a movie gets kids to read. Although I have to admit, I liked Divergent better as a movie than as a book. I'll be interested to see the other moves with that one.

Yep, she went with her older cousin (18) and her aunt (K) to see it on Sunday. She loved it! :)

Glad the job and family are well!

Happy Holidays!

(Trevor is seven? I still remember him as the little baby you couldn't put down. Wow.)

Thanks! And hope your holidays were good, too!

I know, right? He's getting so big and independent, although he does still love to be cuddled. He is a very affectionate little boy, which I admit, I totally love :)

Naveen Andrews has been my Seekrit Actor Boyfriend since "The English Patient." yum.

Yay Mockingjay! Though it doesn't look like we're going to get the "Finnick in his underwear" line. I really need the second half now damnit.

And I'm glad you're liking your job! \o/

You have excellent taste. I've loved him since LOST, which isn't quite as long, but he was definitely one of the more compelling characters on that show.

And yeah, I was disappointed about the Finnick in his underwear line :( It was such a great moment between Boggs and Katniss, and a little levity in such a dark story otherwise. But yes- second half NOW!

Naveen was my not-so-sekrit boyfriend from 2007. I had to fight him away from rose_griffes but I won. ;-)

Was this from the English Patient?
