Yesterday seemed so much easier than move-in last year. Everything went faster, smoother. I didn't cry when my family left. I miss them, but not in the same way as last year. I attended the most wonderful funeral this weekend. Thanks, Mike Winfree, for all the joy, compassion, and laughter you shared with everyone. Bravo.

Got back today from a quick trip up to MD with the mom to visit my grandparents. Nice trip, but too short. A family friend died today after having a spinal cord injury last week. He was told that he would never have sensation or movement below his shoulders and he'd be on a ventilator and in a nursing home for the rest of his life. He decided ( Read more... )

I'm doing a quick update even though I'm saying the same thing I said in a previous comment. My mom and I will hopefully be going to Va Beach this Sunday-Tuesday. This is one of the last times that she and I will be able to go off together by ourselves for the near future.
