So, I finally saw A Star is Born. I liked it, but expected more. It just felt like the movie forced these two characters together and they just became an instant couple. *shrugs* If it had had more build up to a relationship, I might have felt better about it. the Judy Garland/James Mason version did a good job of establishing why and how the two characters fell in love, I think.
I find it interesting that you liked Gaga's performance. A friend of mine who loves her music saw the movie and said he was disappointed in her acting.

I haven't seen either yet, but I'm on the list for Bohemian Rhapsody at the library.

What's been weird to me is I've heard very little talk about A Star is Born. I've had people ask if the library is going to get various movies on the Oscar list, but not a single comment about this one.
