LochJournal 2.0 Progress

Jun 19, 2003 03:53

Since this is taking so long, I've decided to call it LochJournal 2.0. Additionally, it is a total rewrite. Anyway, I'm posting this now from LochJournal 2.0. It posts! And the whole friends viewing/editing thing works. Uh, so, what's left to do ( Read more... )

^_^; I hope that the release of Lochjournal 2.0 goes swiftly and efficiently. I use 1.1 and recommend it to all my friends.
Even though now I've moved to Blurty fulltime, I know that my Lochjournal can keep on travelling with me, unlike the proprietary Blurty/Lj/uJ/DJ software that is around.
Keep up the good work!
Oh, and have you looked at Opera 7's GUI?
It has that nice, futuristic style, and might be easier to replicate than MSN Messenger's style.
(and, in my very biased, boo MSN opinion, Opera looks much better.)

Good luck! Maybe I could try a crack at this GUI-making thing =\;;; No promises though, I'm not very good.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome product! *^_^*

Use of LochJournal 1.1 rockstargrrl July 2 2003, 00:06:38 UTC
I have had one majorly functional problem with LochJournal, but I must say that I enjoy it much more than other clients I have used.

I have LochJournal set to open in my Startup menu, and it minimizes to my system tray. When I want to open the program, I double click on the system tray icon and nothing happens. I can right-click to get to the "New Entry" and whatnot for specific profiles, but I can't just open the program without exiting and re-opening. Any ideas on how/what to do to fix this?

Will this client allow the user to set ALL of his/her previous posts to a different security level? Is that even possible?

a few problems.... fancybob July 14 2003, 14:21:14 UTC
hey... i just dled ur program and i think it's pretty cool and quite handy, since i have both a dead and livejournal... i've just run into two problems so far... first is when i try to update my history, i get this message:

Server reports error:
Client error: Client is making repeated requests. Perhaps it's broken?

also, this may just be a bug, but whenever i try to login to my deadjournal account, it takes a few tries and i have to login to my friends and communities parts first.... i would have used the forums or whatnot, but i can't even get to the website... your help would be much appreciated

thanks!

Yeah, I keep getting that same error message (on LochJ 1.1). It refuses to load my LJ history, but when I try loading my uJ entries, it loads part of it, but it stops at a specific date (sometime around June).

Hopefully this 'bug' of some sort will be fixed in 2.0. Oh yes, I can't access the forums myself. I'm getting some kind of 404 (?) error. Pooie. =(

The forums are gone, and have been for some time. For a while, the host just -disappeared-. I extended an offer for hosting to Mark a little while ago, but since he hasn't gotten back to me about it, I guess that's a no.
