Jun 19, 2003 03:53

Since this is taking so long, I've decided to call it LochJournal 2.0. Additionally, it is a total rewrite. Anyway, I'm posting this now from LochJournal 2.0. It posts! And the whole friends viewing/editing thing works. Uh, so, what's left to do ( Read more... )

This client is excellent! Love the status log. Just a question: can I add non-LJ RSS feeds to friends, if so, how?

looks cool buddy! muffineater July 22 2003, 07:38:06 UTC
hi! i'm reeeeeally computer illiterate and stuff, so i hardly have any idea as to what a client really is, but the premise sounds pretty damn simple enough for me to just kinda follow along, and i like the ideas of your LochJournal!! =) i think you should put a little dragony thing that looks like the loch Ness Monster as your icon in the green box, but let the user have the option of changing it if he/she would like to. There is one that is used for a browser skin on http://www.hotbar.com, on the bottom of what i think is the second page- it's on one of the first few pages that you pass through- i dunno if you can/may use that or not, but it'd be cute 0=). hehe just an idea....feel free ppl to read my journal (name= muffineater ) hey, someone made it up for me, what can i say...?hehe. i love comments, meeting new ppl and making new friends, so step right up and don't be shy- IM me too, if you should like! axL898 is the screenname! i talk talk talk- not thaat obvious eh? ;) just so ( ... )

I love LochJournal kamikaze999 July 30 2003, 15:44:29 UTC
Hello,
downloaded LochJournal a few days ago 'cause I have more than one journal; also had sudden problems with my other clients.
I love the ability to manage more than one journal with one client. Overall, 2.0 seems stable and is working well. I do have a few nits:

1. As other user said, history download doesn't seem to work. Affects me in particular when I want to edit the most recent entry. I use one entry per day, and if I want to write more for the day, I like the ability to add to it.

2. Spell-checker doesn't seem to work. Not that big a deal, but a nice luxury when you have the time to get it going.

Otherwise, it's been a smooth ride so far.
Thanks for all the work!

I have this problem too sometimes with the version 1.1 when it happens i clear local history, restart the program and try again, it helps most of the time:)

Turn off Auto-Retry, and do the retries yourself. That should do it.

Incidentally, Auto-Retry was really only needed when the LJ servers were about as reliable as Yugos, but that has changed in recent months.

I am interested in using Client Software for the first time due to a desire to back-up my LJ to a DVD.
My question is: once backed up, it the data only accessible via your same client software?

I also wish to know if I can use the Client to back up the LJ, then stop using the client.

Also, since this is the only functionality I'm interested in, ought I dl version one or version two-beta?

Thnx, Rose etta
