I get this. I totally do.

When I was gay.. I mentioned it to people.
and they didn't really care or were grossed out.

I don't think PDA is good, no matter what your gender/sexuality. It makes people uncomfortable more often than not.

Ive tried to bring my 'dates' or 'friends' to RP sessions before with horrible results.

Sex for sex's sake = good.
though I don't personally approve of people who can't keep it in their pants once they decide to settle down with someone. But whatever, thats really something people decide for themselves.

I also tend to have two things happen when I make my friends meet my other friends.. I tend to fit in with mostly everyone.
This does NOT mean my friends will mesh with each other.

Ive had people really hate each other.. or become better friends with each other than they are friends with me.

In a way.. both of these things suck.
I tend to cultivate my friendships now, without letting them interact.. I guess I'm compartmentalizing.

But any other choice Ive taken in the pass has ended in fail.
