At least he won't be eating random fair food, unless it gets put in his bowl. Our foxy used to eat anything within reach. If it was within reach, it was obviously supposed to be hers. If someone was absentmindedly holding their plate low enough, she'd eat their lunch.

Although she preferred her grapes dried.

I'd have never been able to take her to a festival.

People felt that he just needed to be fed! All sorts of crap! Oh well, they were just being nice... Unfortunately they didn't have to deal with the food at the other end!

Some dogs are just really OCD like that. I had a Rottie mix who was very routine oriented. If you changed anything in daily routine it would really throw her off. So I know how frustrating that can be especially where it concerns potty issues!

If he's still a puppy, which it sounds like he is(?) then you can ward off some of that by continuing to change up his routine frequently when he's little. He'll learn to be more adaptive and spontaneous. You can compromise to help him out. Like, if you're going camping, bring his bed and bowls instead of making him use different ones. You can lay newspaper down outside and teach him to go there. Eventually, he wander off the paper and start pottying like a normal doggie.

Dogs are bootcamp for having kids. Hehehe. Kids are the same way only a lot more vocal in their displeasure of a changed routine.

Yeah we did take his bed and his food bowls, and also laid down paper for him. He was still a bit funny but much better overall, than I thought he would be. Boy was he happy to be home though.
