Yeah so I brought him home. I am a sucker! There will be pictures to come of the cuteness. Riley is definitely Beagle/Corgi but doesn't appear to be portraying any of the beagle stuff. So far he has not made a peep except for the occasional whine to go outside and when we were playing with a toy ( Read more... )

YEA!! More Corgi power!

BTW, I have a random question about Hope the Poodle if you happen to know. Someone on a Service Dog community said they had been looking into adopting her last week, and I was rather surprised she hadn't been adopted yet. Was/is the HS being more picky about her new home (wanting her to go specifically as an SD), or was there a problem that prevented her adoption before?

I didn't know what to tell this person when I was asked by a friend, and I've not been online with all the RCC prep work I've been doing :)

She went on the floor on the 19th with all the other poodles and was a part of the mass adoption that day when we opened early.

Several puppies were put up later on and maybe that was what they were looking at?

The big adoption day all we asked was they fill out an application and did a first come first serve thing.

Perhaps its the angry woman that came from Vancouver and over heard a family give their number to someone else? We had one of those and it was out of our control.

See, and THAT is why I'm confused, as I was assuming that's what happened. This person last week claimed ya'll still had her, and she was thinking about taking her in as an SD, which just did NOT sound right, at all.

She said Hope, by name, and since I KNEW Hope (Not well, but I did 'know' her) I was wondering why she'd been retained so long, and WTH was going on, but also got a BS/really weird vibe, esp as the person began dodging Hope related questions after I began asking questions, and talking about the last time I'd seen Hope.

Not a clue. She's more than welcome to call us. Not like we're hiding any of the dogs. We waited to slowly put the puppies up so we weren't inundated with people at our doors. The big day was hectic.
