Venue

So after some serious prodding and discussions I accepted the idea of looking into other venues for the wedding. Free is always the best price but to really be comfortable for all the guests it would have to be a real intimate affair in the back yard. Intimate as in 40 people tops ( Read more... )

My old room mate got married at a very small church down town and had the reception at The Mission Mill. It was very beautiful because they had a horse drawn carriage take them from the church to Mission Mill after the ceremony.

They had mostly finger foods for "dinner" and placed a disposable camera on each of the tables for general guest picture taking, and we handed those back when the reception was over.

Anyhow, I got completely off track... what I wanted to really say was him and his new wife didn't really eat all day because everything was so chaotic, and the only thing they had time for was a hamburger on their way to the airport for their honeymoon. So I just wanted to warn you about that.

I'm still getting over the sticker shock of it all. A majority of the places double their price as soon as you mention "wedding" in your discussions.

My mom's friend mentioned how the party rarely eats that day so they plan on having deli trays available for everyone while we're getting ready.

Next Thursday we are thinking about taking the mom's out to the venue along with wine tasting to see if its worth their wine. Tomorrow we're going to HavenHill Lavender gardens to see their venue. You can come if you want.

Our "formal" wedding - yeah- we are going to be paying on if the rest of our lives i swear!!

btw my grandma is a florist- I can give you her info if you want and just let her know your friends with me and she will give you a really really good deal- if you saw any of the pictures form tara and chris's wedding she did their flowers and of course mine also.

I could definitely use florist information. I have no clue what they even run. Also the fact that I don't know if I want table centerpieces or not yet, too.
