I have tried a little harder lately to get Robin interested in potty learning to no avail. I think she's going to be a late one. She knows what it's for and still couldn't care less. She screams to wear her diaper. It's just like the damn toddler bed that she hasn't cared about, either. But Holly has pooped on the floor naked two mornings in a row ( Read more... )

Hahaha... nope!! I guess I'll spend time being jealous of my friends who's 18 month olds are in their "big girl underwear." Robin is soooo unmotivated by the whole "big kid" thing. Seriously. She's like WHO WANTS TO DO THAT WHEN MOM COULD CLEAN MY SHIT UP?? Smart, in some ways.

Our little girl would probably be trained already if I weren't such a putz. I find it hard to muster up the motivation because it means lots of talking and energy on nothing else. I have decided to wait until we get back from Utah in Sept. I can't imagine that long in a car and every half hour or hour she's asking to go potty b/c she's bored with being in the car seat. Eventually things will click for her. One thing I learned from our previous attempt at it is that both mom and child need to be ready.

Suzannah was nearly three, but you know what? It took exactly ONE DAY. Once she made up her mind to go in the potty, she was in underpants all the time. Pooping took longer, but only because she didn't WANT to poop in the potty. We were lucky in that she only ever pooped right before bed, so she still wore underpants to daycare, etc. That might be the case for you :)

Do you have an Ikea near you? They have cheap little plastic potties.
