Apocalypse fic!

How will David Cameron lead the remnant of the country through an economically depressed Britain with a flooded London while he struggles with his newfound affection for his deputy? What will Nick Clegg negotiate for Britain in Europe and will he return to the place where everything suddenly went unimaginably wrong, not least his conflicted feelings over that one minute and thirty-three seconds alone with Cameron? Where is George Osborne, last seen in conversation with a smiling Mandelson?

Treachery, dishevelments, un-used to hardships; it's a reality wrenched from a nightmare. Just how will everyone cope?

This anon is still speechless and still thoroughly hooked to this gem of a story. You're making me want to hug George an inordinate amount and that's not right for a left-winger like me.

David started dicing the shallots for the entree. For dessert, he think he could finally share the chocolate coins, perhaps the final touch on sorbets. He had saved a few sticks of vanilla just for the occasion. As triumphs go, it would just be just the first taste ( ... )

He threw them into the rubbish bin nearby; then, after a moment's consideration, undid his cufflinks and threw those in as well. He rolled up his sleeves and undid his tie. It was a good tie. He draped it on a bush. Perhaps someone would take it ( ... )

Then he saw Nick stepping close to George, shook his hand, patted his back, and said something quietly and quickly under his breath. There was something in the movement that made David pause, the way that Nick's hand wandered from shoulder to elbow as he spoke and how, George, who was not a small man, seemed to stand slightly tilted into it. But before David finished the thought, Nick turned and smiled at him ( ... )

omfg, I was giddy upon seeing that you had updated this. DCam's jealousy is adorable, and oh, how much you've revealed with just this scene is great.
