Welcome to our glorious sixth post.

That's right: 6! But let's move on to not bore you with interesting facts ;)

All fills for prompts of the earlier prompt posts go in the post the prompt was posted in. No re-posting or splitting up prompts and fills.
Otherwise it will get very chaotic.

In an interview with the Torygraph, DCam revealed he's technologically inept talked about his recent music choices.

He seems to think Emiliana Torrini's 'Sunny Road' is quite optimistic, but I find it quite sad (but maybe other anons don't imagine she never gets a reply!)

So, I was thinking ... post-election 2015 Clameron AU?

Seems to fit, somehow!

Fill: It is Time (aka 2025 futurefic) - 4b/? anonymous January 7 2011, 02:16:56 UTC
It was only a short walk from the studio to the banks of the Hudson River. The water was a deep blue today, sunshine glimmering on the surface. The path alongside the river was busy, lots of people walking dogs, businesspeople rushing between meetings, and a few groups of tourists admiring the view.

Nick kept his head down, hoping to be left alone, and strolled aimlessly down the riverbank. He averted his gaze from the couples on the benches lining the path, feeling an ache deep in his gut. Jealousy was irrational, he chided himself; even if anything had happened between himself and David, it wasn’t as though they’d ever have been able to be open about it. So it was all for the best, really; he’d done the right thing in leaving ( ... )

"And so now, as we enter the year 2025 and approach the tenth anniversary of the dreadful events in Pyongyang, I say that now, finally, it is time. The world must rid itself of nuclear weapons, not because it is the easy thing to do, but because it is the right thing to do. It will be hard. It will, yes, be frightening. But we must never again allow ourselves to come to the brink of destruction as we did ten years ago ( ... )

Once safely inside, he slumped into his chair and scowled at his reflection in the overlarge mirror. There was his tea waiting for him, imported Twinings instead of the godawful Lipton they served in the cafeteria; one of the perks of the bizarre celebrity he had enjoyed since moving to New York. Here, his easygoing charm, his very British mannerisms and, of course, the accent, had made him an instant hit. Here, no one remembered his disastrous career, the dizzying rise to all-too-brief success followed so swiftly by a prolonged fall to such depths that his voters, his party and finally even his wife deserted him. Faced with the prospect of losing Sheffield Hallam in 2015, he had instead bowed out with what little dignity he retained. It was lucky he did; in the end, the seat, like the government, went to Labour, and both had been that way ever since. He had had offers, of course; but everyone expected him to go to Brussels and, defeated and reviled as he had felt at the time, there was distinct appeal to the idea of doing something ( ... )

Oooh, intriguing! Apart from a shudder at the thought of 'president Palin' I am thoroughly enjoying this already. *eagerly waits for more*

Excellent beginning, authoranon! One of the most intriguing set-ups for a futurefic I've read on the meme. Please give us more!

And I really find it quite a convincing alternative scenario for Nick's future - now am dying to know what happened between him and DCam in the past - and what's going to happen in this fic.

Ooh, didn't expect anyone would notice a fill way back here! Glad you like so far - it's a bit of a depressing take on the end of the coalition, but it gets better, I promise :-)

It is Time (aka 2025 futurefic) - Part 2/? anonymous January 4 2011, 23:23:40 UTC
Nick’s alarm woke him at 6am, as it did every day. Unusually, this time he was already awake, staring at the ceiling in the dim light of dawn and waiting for the buzzer that would be his cue to give this night’s sleep up as a lost cause.

He slammed his fist on the off button of the alarm clock with a frustrated sigh and headed to the shower. He turned the heat up as high as he could stand it, as though the scalding water could clear his head. His mind was swimming with images of that time he referred to in his own head as Then - those all-too-brief years in which he had been Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The thought of it now made him snort in disbelief; the memories were vivid but remote, as though he had witnessed from outside events that were happening to someone else ( ... )

This is gripping, anon, but very melancholy. I hope David coming back into Nick's life is the start of something better!

Also loving Nick and the vanity hair dye ;)

It's fills for old prompts like this which make tracking the meme worthwhile :)

It'll be a bit depressing for a while, but fear not, this anon is a hopeless romantic :-)
