1) All fills for prompts of the earlier prompt posts go in the post the prompt was posted in. No re-posting or splitting up prompts and fills.
2) Self-prompt when you post unprompted fic. (This means posting what the fill is about in a first comment, like a real prompt, and commenting on that with your fill.)
3) Try not to get too srs business. ( Read more... )

An "inspired from another anon" self prompt anonymous January 4 2011, 23:34:07 UTC
I've always liked the idea of this prompt over on thread 3!

But decided I couldn't fill it exactly and do rear window any kind of justice, so I've taken the idea about the stalking and the photos and gone off somewhere else with it.. I hope the OP of that prompt is OK with that.

My reworded prompt would be something along the lines of:

David and Nick are in love, and keeping it on the down low, but someone is suspicious and does their worstbest to come between them after finding concrete evidence through not so honest ways.

Living two separate lives, extricating the personal and the private entwined threads of life was a difficult necessity for two powerful men. Keeping up the blemish free appearances to colleagues as they went about their daily business routines, focusing on saying the right thing at the right time to the ears of the right people, meant they could never forget themselves, forget who they were and the power and responsibilities they held in their grasp as the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland; until they were behind closed doors, enveloped in the sanctuary of their privacy ( ... )

As the OP of the original prompt you linked, I'm loving it so far! I had given up on someone filling it tbh, so this was nice to find :)
Also in retro spect I'm kinda amused I had dug out Andrew Parsons' name before he ~became the story later on, I had forgotten that.

The weekly cabinet meeting was nearing a close; the atmosphere was heavy as exchanges had become heated between members of the two different parties that made up the coalition. The previous week’s press had been rife with incriminating stories concerning a few major cabinet players; finger pointing and denial had acted as the catalyst for vehement debate. Numerous eyes watched on with anticipation from their place around the table, their focus flitting between the fray and the tense faces of the Prime Minister and his Deputy ( ... )

“Apprehension is setting in within your party, Nick. Something needs to be done about it.” David slowly sat in his chair and looked up at Nick who stood the other side of his desk, a disgruntled look on his face and his hands in his pockets, hiding his balled fists from David ( ... )

The two young politicians looked at each other across the dark, mahogany desk that divided George’s office. George looked hopeful but not allowing any desperation to seep into his cool eyes, Danny Alexander looked back at him; a slight frown creased his brow, as his mind processed the other’s man’s request. After a long, pause the younger man spoke ( ... )

Danny sat without speaking, his face expressionless apart from the slightest show of tenseness in his jaw line. “It hurts, doesn’t it?” George continued. “Well I’m not sacrificing anymore for him, Danny.” George got to his feet and made his way to the front of the desk, and stood next to where Danny sat, looking up at him. George smirked as he could see he’d succeeded in opening up some of Danny’s wounds, relishing that he had him just where he wanted him. He spread out his hands and let the arm of the plush chair Danny was sat on take his weight, as he loomed over his associate. “So, what’s it going to be Danny? Have Nick and David wipe their feet on us for the rest of this government, or turn the tables on them? See what they have to sacrifice... as soon as I show you, you’ll be kicking yourself at how you’ve not noticed before ( ... )

A light tap sounded on the back door that led from the garden up to the apartment above Number Ten, a few short moments the door opened from the inside, and Nick’s lean frame slipped inside before David closed it firmly, shutting out the cold, dark night. Against all wishes of his close knit security team, David had insisted that there were to be at least one route into Number Ten that wasn’t under the watchful eye of CCTV, arguing that he needed just a little privacy at times; since falling head over heels for Nick he had never been more grateful for their reluctant compliance with his request ( ... )
