1) All fills for prompts of the earlier prompt posts go in the post the prompt was posted in. No re-posting or splitting up prompts and fills.
2) Self-prompt when you post unprompted fic. (This means posting what the fill is about in a first comment, like a real prompt, and commenting on that with your fill.)
3) Try not to get too srs business. ( Read more... )

An "inspired from another anon" self prompt anonymous January 4 2011, 23:34:07 UTC
I've always liked the idea of this prompt over on thread 3!

But decided I couldn't fill it exactly and do rear window any kind of justice, so I've taken the idea about the stalking and the photos and gone off somewhere else with it.. I hope the OP of that prompt is OK with that.

My reworded prompt would be something along the lines of:

David and Nick are in love, and keeping it on the down low, but someone is suspicious and does their worstbest to come between them after finding concrete evidence through not so honest ways.

“Did they say where?” He looked to the side to see Danny shake his head. “Damn.” They watched as their subjects exited the office, appearing in another window on the monitor as they did so. The two figures moved down the corridor, never touching or giving themselves away as being any other than colleagues, friends at the most. They reached the end of the corridor and moved through another set of doors and again they appeared in a different window on George’s monitor momentarily, before disappearing ( ... )

This fic is brilliant and one of the things that makes it so is David and Nick having such a real unfluffy imperfect relationship in the middle of it when you could have written something more straightforward. I wish I could pick them up and put them in a fic where that was all they had to worry about, not George's machinations. I really hope this doesn't end badly for them, authoranon! Not that George is a straightforward villain either...

The door was closed firmly behind them, a welcome barrier between the outside world and their personal haven. David was only a few steps in front of Nick in the hallway when he felt a strong grip on his wrist, pulling him back. He offered very little resistance to the force as he turned and faced Nick; only a second had passed before Nick’s hands had reached up to David’s face, gripping his jaw. Their eyes met through the dim light, wide and brimming with pure, raw emotion as their focus flitted between the eyes of their loved one and the lips they desired with such fervour ( ... )

“No... not here and not now, Nick. I said I was going to make it up to you...” He replaced the finger that rested against Nick’s mouth with his lips for a moment before pulling away. “...I want to do it properly; I want to take my time with you.” He let his arms drop to his side and took a step backwards, leaving Nick prone against the door, his head leaning against the wood, a look of bemusement and disappointment on his face as his chest heaved ragged breathes. “I promise you it will be worth the wait.”

Warmth and tenderness with a teasing undertow. Love it. A moment of reprise for them. I suspect bad things are to come.

George sat motionless, enclosed by his brooding thoughts, omitting a dark air that unnerved Danny; who was now in two minds whether to leave George to his thoughts or press him to reveal what was urging him to bring David down. His decision was made for him as George’s eyes cleared of their storm and focused on Danny, unguarded and with fragility in his voice he let his defences crumble ( ... )

George, my heart bleeds for your younger self that David should have noticed but bitterness is not the answer. If his feelings for Nick hurt you so much, then you're not over him and, in the end, in hurting him you'll end up hurting yourself even more and moreso you'll hate yourself for what you've done. This is not the answer, George.

Anon is dithering between hugging George and slapping him. Until then... *grabs Danny and shakes him* What the heck are you thinking, Danny? You should be the voice of reason!

The cold night air chilled the entwined, exposed limbs as they wrapped around each other outside of the warming comfort of the duvet. David lay awake in the darkness; his eyes had adjusted more than adequately to the dim, blue light, he was aware that the heating in the apartment was yet to fire up. He shared a smile with the shadows, the knowledge that he still had time to spend swathed in luxury of Nick’s companionship proved more than enough to keep him warm ( ... )

Time was something that George felt he didn’t have, and he found the very small amount of it that he had spare was occupied with scanning through recorded feeds from the security cameras and listening to the bugging device channels. On the exterior he still held on with both hands to his control and remained his usual diligent self, but underneath the callous storm of bitterness raged on with increasing vigour, go unnoticed by all around him, apart from Danny’s empathetic eyes. After a short Treasury meeting George held Danny behind and lowered his voice, even though they were alone ( ... )
