Questions of any kind can go here!
This way they don't end up in the prompts post and everything's easier to find.

You are not familiar with something?
You need insight into the British school system?
You are not sure what category your fic belongs to?

I've just started filling a prompt that's not-so-recent, which means it's good and buried by now. I haven't seen it up on the filled page yet, which make me think that if I want to add hitherto unfilled prompts to the "filled" column, I have to do it by hand myself instead of it being automatically added, or added by the mods.

But in order to do that, I have to create a del.icio.us bookmark account, as would everyone else who wants to add their fill... which kind of cuts down on the anonymity, doesn't it?

The mods have been pretty good about getting things tagged in del.icio.us as quickly as possible (thought not necessarily if you post middle-of-the-night their time ( ... )

Some kink memes add a link to flat view in the posts themselves, to make it easier for anons to view, since it's *so* convenient and a lot of people don't know about it. Would you be willing to do that here?
To be honest, I'd never heard of that before. Thanks for bringing it up!
Could you be more specific about what you'd like to see/how it works?

I only learned about it because I know some people who used to work for LJ! It's one of those hidden useful things.

Basically, at the end of any URL for an entry page, you add ?view=flat to the end (or &view=flat , if there's already a ? in the URL) and it flips the comment pages into flat mode; what that does is display all the comments in the order they were posted, instead of in comment threads. Then you go to the last page of comments to see all the new ones. You stay in flat mode until you leave that post or you click on the "thread" or "parent" links under a comment, which puts you back in that comment's thread.

Unfortunately, the only way I know of to go into flat mode in the first place is to actually type view=flat in the URL, which is scary for a lot of people. :D So just putting a link to a flat-mode page in the original post helps a lot.

You can see how they did it on wintergameskink, the first ETA on this post has a link to flat mode for that post.(I assumed you guys knew about it already! Wow, I am astonished at how well you've been ( ... )

Summer Recess anonymous May 31 2010, 17:20:03 UTC
Ok, so does anyone know what the Cabinet get up to over the summer? OK so there's no Parliament, but surely the bigwigs need to be around a little more? Or do they all take a big long break?

It'll be weird this yr, they'd better get moving if they want their holidays

They have holidays yes but there are still government departments that need to be run (not that they really do that much in the great scheme of things to honest) so they are still around through the summer recess. As far as I'm aware they still have cabinet meetings.
