i share harry's fear of draco's reaction, but i'm hopeful this experience will prove transformative for him. i just hope the accident won't steal away scorpius' open and precocious nature. :(
i'm very intrigued about how harry helping draco cope will pan out. poor harry, too. that last line just killed me. *squishes he and scorpius both*
For better or worse, Draco's magic is probably lodged too deeply into Scorpius now, shaping his mind and personality, for him to change completely after the scars.
Of course, if he sees his father as rejecting him, he could turn against Draco, too.
And also for better or worse, Harry is too passionate about Draco to simply help him in silence and then walk away once that's done.
...you've got me so hooked it's not funny. SO refreshing to read a story that tackles this particular issue - can't wait to see how things turn out 8DD.
I always wondered what else Draco might have learned to value besides purity of blood. (At some point I should do a story that tackles that issue in more depth too, though). Beauty seemed a natural choice.
God. Just... wow. I'm no longer angry at Draco; I pity him even more now that I saw that nice little bit of delusion-construction. He really does live in his own, perfect world, doesn't he?
And poor Scorpius! How horrible and scary for him! Actually, I have a feeling that there are going to be horrible and scary times ahead for Draco and Harry, as well.
Yes, he does. You could argue that if Harry had remained with him, he would have pulled out of it, but he's so stubborn that he might have persisted in it all the more because Harry would have tried to change his vision of the world.
