This is the last chapter of A Potion Named Desire. However, it will have a sequel, to be entitled An Alchemical Discontent, which will probably start in about a week.
This was just perfect- serious enough that it could devastate Harry, but still completely forgivable to the audience (and Draco).
I do, however, find myself a little annoyed with Ginny. Not that I'm blaming Harry's anger on her, but making out with Dean to make Harry jealous, then breaking up with him because he's boring? Not a great character reference. I'm a bit curious why, after five years, they've never made their peace about the whole situation. I'm assuming she doesn't know the lengths he has gone to to prevent it from happening again?
Thank you! That was exactly how I meant it to play.
Ginny was playing with fire, and got burned. It's the kind of thing that only makes sense when you're half-drunk and just a bit impatient with your boyfriend. She really wanted Harry to appeal to her so they could get back together.
As far why they haven't made up, think about what you know of Ginny's issues. She was almost devoured once before.
Hm. Yes, that's about what I thought what Harry did, though I imagined it more damning. Well, if it was, his potion taking wouldn't be so over the top and Draco wouldn't be as inclined to date him and then where would my little H/D shipper heart be?
So, yeah. Good thing it is what it is. Liked the chapter. Can't wait for the sequel. I really can't. One week? After you got us all spoiled with nearly daily updates?
Speaking of cravings: How is your story about Harry as dress-up artist coming along? It sounds so interesting and confusing that I can't wait for that either. Sorry, I'm so demanding today :">
If it was more damning- if he had actually rated Ginny, for example- I think Harry would have retreated from society long since. Or tried to off himself.
Yes, sorry. :) I need some time to focus on the plot of the story and decide how long it should run.
'Changing of the Guard' is up next after 'Forgive Those Who Trespass' finishes. (That will probably be around 32, 34 chapters). I haven't written anything yet, since I write the stories as they go along, but I'm definitely thinking about it!
They really could have. They were both young and stupid.
Draco wants an intense partner focused on him. He's much more interested in the glimpses he caught of Harry acting like that than he is in the mild-mannered one who confronts him most of the time.
It's finished?! What!? I mean, that was definitely a wonderful chapter, but no resolution! I guess I am spoiled since a week seems like such a long ways away :) Do you already have a title set up for the next installment
( ... )
Heh, I had a few other people say that. I suppose since I always knew there would be a sequel, I didn't really have the urge to tie everything up this time.
The sequel will be An Alchemical Discontent.
Harry does expect himself to be a hero. However, the depth of Ginny's reaction also paralyzed him. If she had shrugged it off, he probably would have as well.
Harry can still experience physical passion and irritation, and other, milder forms of those two emotions. He just holds himself back from getting enraged or overwhelmed with lust. That's another reason he likes rules.
Desire might well affect those moments, and since it lasts for two weeks, Draco might have a chance to find out.
Hmm, I'm curious what Cordelia and Charlemange are up to; would they really pay the apothecary off well enough for him to stop selling the most lucrative items? Even if they did, I feel like there has to be something more to it... I guess I'll have to wait to find out :)
Terrific first part -- I LOVE the approach of this story and shall be waiting quite impatiently for the next two parts!!!! :D

Waiting for the romance is not a problem or me. I like a slow upbuilt and some plot. So it's actually a Yay! for that. :)
Hey, that isn't even that for along then. Am looking forward to that.

Haha, I like how Draco considers all the 'bad' parts of Harry as what he might like in a partnet. Looking forward to the next installment!
