This is the last chapter of A Potion Named Desire. However, it will have a sequel, to be entitled An Alchemical Discontent, which will probably start in about a week.
Ok I got part of why Harry took the potion correct, wasn't sure about all of it, though I understand why he pushed Draco away and broke the connection. Count on Harry to be so dumb as to take the Incidentto such extremes.
Draco is right though, Harry stopped and that's what is important. I'm look forward to seeing how Draco proves that to Harry.
I do have this suspension that I'm not going to like Nott or Diggory in the sequels though.
More than anything, Harry is terrified of hurting someone like that again. Hence his panic when he forgot the potion, and when he started to feel lust for Draco despite his potion.
Draco is going to get more and more frustrated with the way Harry acts in the next story, and more and more determined to force his emotions into the open. Subtly, of course.
-nods- I was close enough. Very nice chapter, and while agree that waiting on stupid Harry is a pain it's sadly necessary. -sigh- Whooo is Draco ever in debt. 8D Harry should help him out. -nod nod-
Well, like everyone, I thought Harry's reasons weren't that bad to actually have to repress himself so much. And it never occurred to me that that was the reason, his blend of lust, jealousy and rage, which is admittedly very dangerous. But the point is Harry didn't actually do anything irreversible, did he? Ginny wasn't raped, dead or worse. Harry held himself back but the poor bloke finds it damning to actually even just feel like doing those horrid things to other people, to someone who he loves, no less. Sometimes we just get so stuck with the 'what if I really had done that???' that we forget to remember that no, we stopped just in time

True. Harry is obsessing over the hypothetical. But he's the only one- besides Ginny- who knows how strongly he really felt in that moment, and the ways he sees it, it was Ginny's tears which stopped him, not his own willpower. Next time, there might not be that outside factor mitigating things. So he takes the potion and counts himself lucky.
I honestly didn't think about the chest monster, but hey! Any good symbolism...
Ginny was seriously kissing Dean, but she wanted Harry to get jealous and want her back so she could "capitulate" and return. She never counted on what happened. I do feel sorry for her; she didn't purposely mean to hurt Harry, or get hurt.
Draco has very good reasons for seeing someone else. Not that Harry reacts well to it, of course.
The sequel will be moving in the direction of slash. It depends on whether or not you think slash has to mean "two people already in a relationship" instead of "longing for it."
And thank you so much! For the long comment and the other long comments.
My thoughts on the Incident: Harry is an idiot for focusing in what might have happened instead of what did happened. Draco’s right, the important thing here is that Harry stopped. Oh, and this didn’t make me feel any sympathy for Ginny, she was an idiot too. She also had some part in the Incident, with that little jealousy game. I’d really like to know Ginny’s thoughts in the matter, because she’s still very shaken about it…. Does the fact that Harry stopped meant anything to her? Or hasn’t she considered that? Ginny and Harry didn’t really talk about the Incident, did they?
It’s funny the potion, as a side effect, lessens Harry’s control over his magic, I thought it did the opposite ::lol:: So, based on what the potion does to Harry, I’ll have to agree with Hermione and Draco: he doesn’t need it at all. Draco will have the time of his life trying to make Harry see this, and I loved that he chose to do it in a Slytherin way :D Harry will never see it coming. It’ll be a test of self-control for Draco, because the urge to shake

Harry has a fairly modest fortune. He might agree to help Draco with the debts if Draco requested it, though.
