Don't like secrets either, Creevey?

Nah, they just muddle things up, don't they? I mean, it's all harmless until someone actually eats the frogtart, you know?

Frogtarts are harmless, mate. Just a bit of fun.

I seem to know of someone who is hurting cos of a secret. Wouldn't know about that, would you?

Heh, I'm not sure Percy'd agree with you on that one.

I guess that depends who it is.

Telling those who thought you just went to a fancy boarding school that "no, really I can do magic," generally went poorly. One of my mates from home told my mother I seemed to be having delusions about magic, and he thought she should take me to see a doctor. Should have seen her trying to keep an impassive face. Classic, I tell you.

Ha, really! 'Suuuure, you can do magic. I suppose you can fly too, can you?' 'Well, actually...' and that's when they start making noises about schizophrenia. Our problem was really that no one could ever figure how Dennis and I got to go to some posho boarding school in the first place. Bless my mum, always skirting around it, 'They're very gifted, my boys.'

Or she could have said, "The oldest one's bloody obnoxious with his camera, so I sent him away!" I'm just kidding, mate. We've got to go get those drinks sometime soon.

And I think I've got a photo lead for you.

Ha, well it wouldn't have been a lie! At least now my powers of annoyance have been somewhat diverted towards serving the public good. 'Course, I'm not sure how much some of the stories I shoot actually serve society, from the ever thrilling pages of section D. I'm sure that the photos for 'Pygmy Puffs: Adorable Companions or Choking Hazard?!' were worthwhile in some sense, but I'd love to do more hard news, so I'm very curious about that lead you've mentioned. We really do need to meet up soon.

Never mind me, I was just thinking out loud. Well, on paper. I guess in person this is where you would humour someone by patting them on the shoulder in a landlordly fashion and giving them another drink?

Oh, I don't know. Well, I do. Just thinking about stuff. I just want things to be right, you know? I don't want them to get screwed up or be difficult.

I guess it's just the time of year when I start thinking about everything too much, y'know? I'm probably taking everything too seriously right now.

Look, come and have a drink with me, get pissed or something? I can come over, it's no problem at all.

I don't want to be a bother, but that'd be great. Thanks Charlie, you're a real mate.
