Just dating back about... 16 centuries?

It occurred to me last night that, if the legends are correct, I can determine the exact year that Patrick started the conversion of Ireland.

Where to find the astronomical data for 16 centuries ago watery_memories April 30 2010, 04:15:00 UTC
Ask an autistic savant? Theoretically, one should be able to calculate it, yes? It's just a really, really, really difficult/tedious calculation. So just find an autistic savant who can do that calculation in their head and ask them! Simple as pie! :)

After a bit of digging, found a few more tools to maybe help narrow it down.

* High-king Loigaire (reigned 428-467) ruled during the event
* The First Council of Nicaea (325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the northern hemisphere's vernal equinox.
* Good moon phases program http://www.paulcarlisle.net/mooncalendar/

After doing some rough math, going over a few years, April 445 (first sat of April is full moon) looks to be the most promising. Either way a very interesting puzzle to think on. Thank you!
