After some soul-searching and medication, the thought of getting my MLS is seeming to be less and less a back-up plan for me and actually a goal towards something that I would enjoy. I made the mistake this weekend of letting one of the other girls do some sorting--thinking Hey, she passed LC Easy and has been here working nights for two weeks now!--and not following her and going through every shelf to correct and apparently the results were so bad that Loretta had to come and complain.

Dude, I nearly filled up a cart pulling journals and East Asian and oversize books out of the main sorting area.

Also if there was a weird arranged but mostly in call-number order cart that was totally my bad - I started filling it BEFORE I realized that 1/3 of the books on the shelves didn't belong there.

I too know the pain of taking my job seriously when the rest of the store doesn't seem to... I hope things pick up.
