I saw Billy Joel and Elton John in concert last night.  It was, of course, incredible.  We were behind the stage, three rows from the top, seats that actually did not suck.  Yeah, I pretty much only saw the band's back, but Joel and John were both in profile pretty much the entire time.  They played a few songs together at first, started with "Your ( Read more... )

Strike was super easy because we didn't actually take down the set. Glass is our participating entry in KC ACTF, which is a cool thing for undergrads we never got to go to because they hurt Molly's feelings once. Show is closed.  Yay, I suppose.  I dunno, the whole thing was rather anti-climatic.  6 performances, 150-ish cues/performance.  Awesome board ops and costume crew.  One awesome props person and the other guy who was always late, and my ASM who showed up to every show wearing heeled sandals.  Even to strike.  I'll give her credit, she risked her ( Read more... )

First rehearsal last night.  The music is fucking gorgeous and my cast is fan-freakin'-tastic.  I started sniffling during one of the songs.  The director said, "Now, you know you can't start bawling during the performance, right?"  Yeah, yeah.  Seriously, though, it's just so damn...pretty.  And the director and University TD have been pretty nice ( Read more... )
