I had the feeling.... ;;;;____;;;; Beautifully done though terribly sad. Also... you said you'd tagged the warning but you didn't. ;;^^ I'd recomment tagging or put a note at the bottom of your post since death!fic is a major squick for people. (I almost didn't read, since I kinda had the guess, but I love my OTP and I like your writing :3 )

Have just made sure that 'character death' is the first visible tag at the end of the fic, didn't realise it wasn't showing showing up earlier...thanks for pointing it out :-D

Glad you liked it - I know what you mean about death fics, I tend to avoid them as a general rule because I can't bear to see my favourite characters die...don't ask me why I wrote one - I have no freaking idea, except that it totally wasn't planned this way lol!

Nice! I like the point that redemption through death doesn't give you the opportunity to get to know someone, so we all have to gamble a little or we'll always be too late.
