Ha!! That was quite a trip! Thanks so much :) Certainly one of the most memorable stories I've read for ANY couple in a long time. Daniel getting upset about the ambassador peeing on the bed was hilarious. I'm glad to see that Vala could detach Sheppard from an unsuitable match...if anyone could it would be her! I very sorry about taking so long to get this to you, I should stay away from doing pinch hits from now on. I'd already delved into the angsty side of things, so I tried for lighthearted this time and hoped it would work.

Yes, it would, because Vala is very good at detaching things, like wallets and treasure and pretty colonels from those not wise enough to hang on to them.

I enjoyed all of it, right from the first sentence, but my favorite lines were McKay's:

"For God's sake, what did you do to Sheppard!?" he yelled at Vala. "He's locked in a cell with a leopard, singing 'I can't give you anything but love'!"

"Really?" McKay asked, looking interested. "You got Sheppard to go to the circus? That's amazing considering his clown phobia."

I don't know if it is widely known, but they're friends, they've been drunk and drugged and jailed and chased and bored and so forth together for years. They know all sorts of embarrassing things about each other and Teyla and Ronon (like that time when Ronon was a kid and his mother shaved his head as a punishment for rolling the neighbor's cat-thing in tree sap and that no one sane ever eats anything Teyla cooks).

Thank you for writing this! It was cute and funny and sexy (though I think that maybe the whole John marrying some boring woman needed some more warm up . . . I was confused). Also, love the image of John and Vala in a bed with a leopard. Seriously, that's enough hotness to last a long winter ;-).

I think this is where your crack-out story went...

You have a good point about John's engagement requiring more set up. One of the reasons I should avoid doing pinch hit stories after this. I just had to streamline it all to get it done and even so it's horribly late, so a lot of backstory is missing. May be some day I'll rewrite and expand it...and someday I'll win the lottery, too.

John and Vala and the leopard all in bed together...deserves to be turned into art work by someone, I think.

Glad you enjoyed it, despite its imperfections.
