ATTERBURY SUCKS!!! Five days of demobing could have been EASILY done in three days. But no, it doesn't make sense, so the 'Army' does it that way. Bah... it's sickening. 1/4 of the total American Pop on base is the 76th battalion (my group), 1/12 is KBR and civilains, 2/3 is the 53rd. I'M NOT KIDDING!! I've been firing my SAW today and will be doing it again tomorrow. Today we have been with the ANA soldiers firing thier PKMs (thier machine gun) and the AK-47s. It was really a blast, teaching them to fire our weapons and firing thiers. What even may today so much better was they wear firing their tanks and artillery next to us... too bad there ( Read more... )

Yea, totally awesome day yesterday. It was so awesome to teach the follow collation forces stuff and being able to shoot thier weapons. I really enjoyed it. I even have a 58 sec film of a Romanian shooting my SAW, and they seem to love shooting our weapons too. As it becomes closer and closer to when we leave, things becomes more exciting and everyone is alot more eager to get on the flight home. In this case, I'm having fun chit chatting to my fellow soldiers, going to get pizza and 'DQ it up', and we are doing our best to not think about going home. But that's impossible. Yea, yesterday was sweet! The drive to the airbase (called Kia) sucked. In the back of a 2.5 tons truck sucked. Because the driver was a Pog and he sucked at his job and the road was freaky horrible.
