Alright, this is as much a test of my laptop's capabilities as anything, but the other day I was brushing my teeth and I became curious as to the public opinion on four very different yet similarly vocally monotonic music artists. lou reed's pretty good but i don't know who mark knopfler is, so i'm gonna go with dylan. obviously. 18 days til the concert.

im pretty sure that mark knompfler is the singer from dire straights, and im gonna go with lou reed, because a., i dont think tom petty sings in a monotone most of the time and b., were goin singing not songwritin. plus dylan wrecked his throat, i hope he doesnt have throat cancer or somethin.

yeah, not necessarily singing in a monotone, it's just that sort of vocal quality. Dylan and Petty have been compared by comedians many a time. And you can consider songwriting if you want, this is sort of an all musical aspects thing.

I should probably clarify, Reed is from The Velvet Underground, and Knopfler is from Dire Straits.

Lou Reed. I HATE Bob Dylan. THe other three aren't so bad but I definitely vote the Velvet Underground guy.

no one is better than dylan, period. lou reed is good and knopfler is too but dylan has the best voice of them all and influenced them all

So in conclusion, we have Bob Dylan and Lou Reed tied with 2 votes each. Mark Knopfler got one. I like them all, but if I was forced to choose one I would say Dylan I think, because he's easily one of the greatest songwriters of all time, and he revolutionized popular music.

So um... I guess Dylan wins now.
