Constantine

Well, I finally got off my lazy ass to go see the movie Constantine with Megan last night. It was pretty good. Although I was disappointed. It was good, but not a good as I expected, but I guess that's what happens when set you expectations up high. I've never read the comics, Hellblazer, but Constantine did make an appearance in a Sandman comic a ( Read more... )

Yeah I saw Constantine and I think they used Keanu because he doesn't have emotion. They used him because Constantine was a heartless asshole for the most part, and was just trying to buy his way back into heaven. I thought about it and yeah...Keanu I hate you, but you were a good cast for this role (in my opinion). It's appropriate that the kid Constantine would have more emotion because that was before he died. And don't get mad at the physical attributes, it really does not matter if he has blonde hair in the comic and black hair in the movie, thier physical appearance has nothing to do with the movie as a whole. And Lucifer was fat and ugly because he has lived in hell his whole life, hell does shit to you man, he can't stay pretty forever, living there. Anyway thats all the insight I have to give to you.
p.s. Gabriel pissed me off too, he's not a fucking half breed!
p.p.s Wasn't Gavin Rosedale AWESOME!!!

it does nto say this in the actual comic book godspelledcat February 22 2005, 22:04:39 UTC
but he is supposed to look remarkably like sting, so the casting choice would be obvious right? wrong. can you really imagine sting being an asshole?

Yeah, they could have put plenty of worse actors in the role i guess (Orlando Bloom) but it's just a bit sad when you get roles for the fact that you can't portray emotion... But Gavin Rossdale was THE hottest thing in the movie hands down. He was awesome. Extremely awesome. Tres awesome. And I forgot to add in the bit where Keanu called down Gabriel doing the arm-togetherness thingie, was also tres awesome, that bit and Gavin will probably result in me seeing it multiple times again. And I guess that the bad parts in the movie alway overshadow the good bits and make it worse than it actually was, but I still liked it. But I just went to the website, and realized that Gabriel was a woman... o.0 I thought he just had a vocal problem or something...I'm really bad at distinguishing between sexes sometimes. Now I feel wierd cuz I was attracted to him/her a bit...I think I'm going to go now and reevaluate my sexual orientation....

"Now if you didn't catch what I was trying to point out, it says clearly in the BIBLE that Lucifer was of "perfect beauty" and I'm sorry but a fat man in a white suit doesn't really bring to mind the words perfect beauty, or of a fallen angel. And don't even get me started on Gabriel"

Read Dante's Inferno and you'll understand, the fall from heaven messed him up. Why does no one research before saying stupid shit like that? It pisses me off.

Yes, yes, God is talking about the fall of Lucifer in relation to the king of Tyre, who tried to be like to God, and thus falls under the like sentence with Lucifer. And even though I have never read Dante's Inferno (I've been meaning to though), and I'm sure it has very interesting and all, but I still consider it a secondary source to the Bible, with his own interpretation of hell. The bible was the where Lucifer was first mentioned, and thus the only source I took into account because it is canon. Dante's Inferno only builds off of this. Yes, many people use Dante's structure of hell, but there are other interpretations too. And if Constantine used Dante's version of hell, then Lucifer would still not be an old. fat man. I just don't know where they got the old fat man thing from, and that was what I was mainly complaining about, that they pretty much randomly decided to use an old, fat man for Lucifer. Unless there is another book that I've never read that says that Lucifer became an old fat man, I'm sticking to my opinion. But if ( ... )
