transformation.

A taste of the disgusting potion still lingered in his mouth as he paced the concrete floor, his long claws padding against the stone as he moved back and forth, his slender, wolfish form shaking every so often from the after effects of the transformation.  Padfoot sat not far from Remus, his tail wagging as he waited for his friend to get his ( Read more... )

There's a sudden banging on the door. "Oi! If you don't want me to drop this let me in!" On the other side of the door, stood Tonks. She was carrying a tray that was overflowing with all of the requested things such as water and food.

At the sound of the knocking, Remus lifted his head up, beady amber eyes staring at it for a moment before he looked to Padfoot who was already heading up the stairs and changing from his form to his normal one to unlock it.

"Here, here, don't drop it," he said as he helped catch the tray.

"Thanks Sirius." She said as he took the tray over from her.

Tonks was familiar with the effects of the Wolfsbane Potion. She knew that while Remus drank it he wasn't dangerous. While she knew both of those things, there was some slight trepidation on her part. She wasn't trembling in fear. She wasn't even that nervous but when you got down to it, he was still a werewolf.

"Is he doing alright?"

And at her question, Remus stood and stretched in his corner, quietly padding over to the both of them, his amber eyes moving over Sirius and Tonks. He appeared to be quite alright save for a few scratches here and there. He was prone to hurting himself during transformations, a side effect to being locked away and the wolf raging to be let loose.

He sniffed the air, smelling Tonks' scent strongly along with the enticing smells of the food brought down on the tray. Sitting on his hind legs, he watched her, waiting to see how she took in this revelation.

"Suppose he's alright. Should have known Moony would come out for a pretty girl."

And Tonks waited until Sirius got Remus presentable. Well, as presentable as he could be given the set of circumstances.

When she approached Remus she smiled at him. There was no judging on her part. She slipped her arm around him while guiding his arm around her shoulder. "D'you think maybe I should fix him a hot bath?" She didn't have to stay in there with him but as a person who got injured often, she knew that a warm bath could be soothing.

He winced, crying out sharply when he was finally to his feet. There was nothing broken but blood stained his cheeks from the fresh cuts on his face from his claws, but after his body reformed, he always felt as if his entire body was bruised. "Maybe...bath...would be good," he said, a weak smile finally spreading over his lips as he looked at Tonks, grateful for the help as Sirius guided to get the three of them up the small staircase.

"I can walk on my own," he said as his hand rested on the railing at the top of the stairs.

"You don't have to walk on your own though." He had them to lean on.

At the top of the stairs, Tonks turned to Sirius. "Why don't you get him cleaned up and I'll get the bath started?" By clean, she meant the scratches. Tonks did not want to make Remus any more uncomfortable than he already was but she could draw the bath and get everything ready. She could also have tea waiting for when he was done soaking. Those simple things she could do.

He knew that, but Remus didn't want to appear weak, even in front of loved ones. As frail as he could seem at times, he could muster some immeasurable inner strength when it counted. Remus pushed up on the railing and righted himself as best he could, his legs still a tad shakey as he stepped forward, brushing off Sirius who gave Tonks a nod to go ahead and do just that.

"I'm just going to go sit down on my bed for a minute." Sirius, of course, followed him where he planned to clean up the scratches on his face.

Remus nodded quietly as she took his hand, his long, thin fingers wrapping softly around hers as she stepped closer to him. He didn't know exactly what he wanted, and he was still fighting the bit of soreness and exhaustion he suffered, but it seemed to fade with her presence and the memory of the kiss shared moments ago.

"It helped a great deal. Again, thank you for that." His face clean though the scratches fresh on his pale skin, he looked up at her through the damp strands of his longish hair. She couldn't see it, as Remus had grown accustomed to masking his anxieties and fears over the years, but inside, he was just as nervous. This was so fragile to him, and he dare not break whatever this was beginning between them.

He took her hand and turned it, open palm, up to his lips where he kissed the center, the pad of his thumb tracing over her skin. "Whatever happens next, I shall leave up to you, but whatever you decide, please don't leave. Stay here...with me.."

Tonk reached down and smoothed his hair back and off of his face with her free hand. She could feel it in her stomach, tiny dragonflies flying around. There were no butterflies. Dragonflies were louder.

She swallowed when he kissed the palm of her hand. "You're welcome. I'm glad it helped."

She sat down next to him. Tonks unbuckled her belt and took off her clunky boots and socks. There was nothing sexy in her reasons for removing them. Her belt pinched and if she was going to lie down, she wanted to be comfortable. "Why don't we just see how this goes? I can't promise anything except that I'll stay."

"I can make no promises of my own, but if you'll stay, I can accept that." When she sat next to him, he eyed her for a moment, and the whole thing seemed to remind him of two teenagers with no idea what to do about to fool around. it brought a deep blush to his pale cheeks as he slid himself back onto the bed and stretched out on his back to lay down comfortably.

Patting next to him, he sighed, his long feet wiggling as he seemed to sink into the plush blankets of the old bed.

No. If they had both been teenagers, this would have been easier on Tonks. Hormones and feeling a bit randy, well, that was easy. This didn't feel like that though. "Don't.. You can..." Merlin. She had experience, this shouldn't be hard.

"What d'you want to do Remus? D'you want to touch me? You don't have to but you can." Tonks was blushing herself as she settled down next to him. She laid her head down against his shoulder and drapped an arm across his chest.

Tonks knew that he was tired. Tonks knew that he had just gone through hell. She didn't want to add to anything or make him feel awkward. The next move was his.

Sometime later...

Sometime after Remus and Tonks had exploded against each other, they had drifted off to sleep. He was still on top of her and her body was tucked comfortably, if not a little possessively against his. During the night, one of them had pulled a sheet over themselves.

She slept the slumber of the well-sated. It was hours before she finally began to stir. Outside of the window, it was still dark. The sun was just starting to make its ascent in the sky when Tonks started to stir. Her body shfited against his a little bit.

Tonks did not like to wake up.
