In retrospect, posting a prompt meme immediately before my vacation was not the BEST timing, but oh well! I'll post more later. For now, enjoy part 1!

Thank you so much for the Nero and Callista prompt! Callista is an absolute joy in it, and Nero is a precious treasure as usual. I just love their friendship so much.

That one was really fun because I had no idea what to do with it, I just put them in a room together and it happened. They have such great friend chemistry :)

Mmmm I love the Callista and Dexter one so much; all that raw anger and pain, and Dexter realizing all these new things about Callista and how she views/deals with the games.

And I'm always a sucker for Emory stories! The volunteer Emory AU is especially interesting, because I feel like it gives more of a sense of agency then she usually has in the normal verse? She's always felt like the good, steady solider doing her duty, which ends up unsettling her in her original arena and post-game. But in this AU, I really like the she has to make this snap decision that COULD get her in a lot of trouble because of how it's breaking from the script that they're all so used to but it also gives her more control over the situation then she has in canon. But it's all still so Emory! Haha, I'm rambling and I dunno how articulate this is, but I just really like this AU 😊

Calli and Dexter is a dynamic I only ever play with in the background so MAN it was really fun to do on purpose

I REALLY LIKE THIS EMORY, you're right that she has more agency in this one and I think it helps her a lot! Poor Emory in canon really does follow the script the whole way down, but it never quite lands for her. This Emory, everything is a bit brighter.

Calli being genuine and considerate with Nero made me feel more things than I anticipated😭. Just bb Calli and Nero in general. BUT! Nero covering a man's whole face with his hand is too funny, I'm sorry.

BB CREED! HELP YOUR HONOUR I LOVE HIM. First you start off by *hurting* me with "slipping in and out of medication hazes long enough to call for Alec" because the Seward boys give me so many feelings. The line "Service is an act with a time and place, not a state of being" hits harddd, Creed really needs that drilled into his brain.

Also: “Your turtle looks drunk.”

“That’s how turtles look when they’re telling you to fuck yourself.”

Nero covering the dude's head with his hand came to me at the start of the interaction and made me laugh too hard not to include it. Just - SHUT.

Alec and Creed are great and I enjoy Creed being ordered to relax and it working, what a nerd. I also like them just ... getting to be brothers and needling each other.

re: the safe word, ha ha ha whoops, yes, thank you, you're welcome, that interaction sort of played itself out in real-time as I wrote it so I also experienced it as a bit of an OOF

Hi again! Once again I love, love, love them all!

Okay, after recovering from the last one and moving on to the Jake/Alec one, my BOYSSS I also love them. Alec having nice things is always a morale boost and the two of them are adorable.

Jake being Entirely Unsubtle with his less-than-innocent motivations will always be funny to me "every time they go to the bar he plunks himself down on a seat and turns Alec loose on the nearest group of people having a pick-up game in his eye-line" and see, even Alec notices this one 😂

"Jake, meanwhile, pulled him up against the wall outside and kissed him breathless. Alec didn’t pretend to understand, but he wasn’t stupid enough to complain"- Alec, honey, you're a pretty boy and need to accept that.

"If Creed were here, he and Alec could have a whole conversation in eyebrows and rolled eyes behind his back" Ouch. That's all.

Jake and Alec are great and I'm glad Alec gets to be hot and appreciated, FINALLY. but also kawuli and I were joking that somehow both of them are convinced they're the ones tricking the other into dating them, so ...... nerds

bb Devon is great and I love him, even if I think he would be exhausting in a classroom setting (lol)

Devon and Misha match up against each other a lot on my spreadsheet so I was like, hm. I actually don't know whether Misha requested it or was told to, and I kind of like it that way! Devon never asks and she never tells him and I think that's sort of ... on brand? there are some parts of their life they just don't talk about.

I love PK Emory if only because she helps me remember that our Emory is the same! she just hides it better. but having an Emory who's absolutely ready to throw down is a bit of a delight.

This is so perfect. I loved every bit of it. Especially Creed trying to draw the turtle, and him and Alec messing around. It just makes it hit that much harder when you remember what happens in canon. You have a talent for drawing emotion out of readers.

Poor Creed and Alec. I read a post recently about girls who are dead at the start of a narrative (like Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks or Jackie from Yellowjackets or Lily Kane in Veronica Mars) and how they're the whale fall that feeds the entire story, even the parts where they're alive you know they're going to die and that tragedy is what gives the story life, and it felt very Creed.

But here, you know, the turtle tells you to go fuck yourself!
