This blog is going on temporary to permanent hiatus for a few reasons. While I once again have a functioning computer, I don't have the most reliable internet connection. Woo! Start Date
Start the new job June 12! Hooray. Leave Tuesday for College Station, but I may only be there late night to early morning depending on traffic. If I am around for dinnerish things, I will send out a call. My parents have expressed an interest in meeting the CS folk.

Packing
I've been packing up my apartment over the last couple of days. Luckily, I do not have much stuff so the process is going quickly. My parents are trying to convince me to buy furniture before I move to DC on the theory that it will be cheaper in Texas and my new job will pay all my moving expenses, but my cheap side is coming out and I'm unsure ( Read more... ) -

Time off
My last day at the Study Abroad office was last Tuesday. I feel like I should ruminate on that a bit more, but really I don't have much to say. I'm glad I got out of there when I did. It's saved me a lot of additional stress. And it's nice to have some time off before starting my new job. It's unlikely that I'll ever get time like this off ( Read more... ) -
Death of a computer
I woke up this morning and did something that I haven't done for months and months now: booted up my old laptop. I generally try to avoid this because it takes a good thirty minutes to boot up my laptop and the grinding noises the fan makes while it's booting up concern me greatly. I gave notice at work today, which feels excellent. My last day is officially March 31st. I'll probably have to come back in a few times in April to make sure everything is transitioning smoothly, but last minute arrangements are officially no longer my problem.
