Post Kung-fu media: The Punisher, a movie that nearly collapses under the weight of it's own backstory. I hate origin movies. I know they're neccessary but they can just be so boring. That said I still like the movie. There's some cool vintage Punisher stuff in it realized on the big screen

Yeah, as a kid reading the comics the whole "he lost his family in the cross fire of a gang war" thing always seemed a little bit of a stretch. The realization of that concept on-screen was WAY WAY more traumatic! Hell, I can barely watch that scene...
