Of course I'm going to read this- people have been kind enough to flow through the 528 entries on my LJ, and returning the favor isn't too rough :P

When I see you next, remind me to tell you about my realization in regards to physical beings and spiritual growth. I hope I can find a phrasing adequate to the task by then.

As to the original question- I blog for many reasons. It helps me keep track of where I've been, it allows me to see things written out (which is a wonderful way to detect BS), and the feedback gives me perspectives from others that I wouldn't have reached on my own.

That works. I can get behind that idea of blogging to look at things from a new angle, and to get other perspectives on it.

My visual cortex processes patterns at a crazy-MoFo rate.

So, after your challenge about "not getting through the whole thing" in all-caps, I started to scroll to the bottom to see how long it was.

I stopped when my retina logged the word Sifu, and the rant on SUVs.

I stopped again on the Republicans and Democrats, and your even-handed thrashing of the extremes.

I stopped the last time on your quotation of Paul. Let me tell you about what I've found in Galatians... it will truly blow your mind.

I'll go back and read the rest... but if it's all a bunch of emo whining, then prepare for a physical workout beatdown on Tuesday. (I'll pull the Rendezvous out of the garage.)

;)

The term "physical workout beatdown" simultaneously induces terror and giddiness.

Yeah, I always feel better after Hell's Kitchen. That asshole's my anti-hero... someone with enough money in a position with enough power to be able to say whatever he wants to whoever he wants however he wants as loud as he wants.

I think I will have a Coke...

You think you're emo and whiny? I'll show you emo and whiny!!! If you get more free time than you know what to do with, check out my second livejournal entry on September 4th, 2005. It's the massive Omega Man post I made in the midst of my post-Katrina depression. It sounds a lot like this entry - for the record, I'm glad to say things look a lot better on the other side, largely because of the activity you and I have in common ( ... )

Sometimes you have to evaluate your general opinion on life, liberty, and the pursuit of convenience and tell SOMEONE, because if you don't let somebody know then you'll go crazy.

When someone decides to lay out their ideas on humanity on someone, there's only a handful of ways that person can respond. They can agree, they can try and convince you you're wrong, or they can sit in silence.

And anyways, I don't care what light mine is seen in. The value was in setting it down in writing.

I like the idea of peace of soul coming from lack of opinions... but is it lack of opinion from lack of examination, or from extensive examination and a dystopic realization of futility?

Just judging from the rest of Lichtenberg's writing, it's the peace that comes from sheeplike ignorance and indifference. Intelligence seems to always effect a turbulence of spirit.
