Argh, wedding planning is driving me crazy. We have a smaller budget than I had originally counted on and now we can't afford the places that I liked the most. I'm determined to have the wedding on Halloween of this year, but most of the places that actually are in our price range are now booked. I hate living in one of the most expensive areas in

Thank you! It looks like most people don't mind the occasional wedding posts, so I'll try without the filter for now.

I am definitely more concerned about the actual marriage than the wedding, though I do really want a fun wedding! I don't want to spend much at all (I'd rather use the money for a house), but I do want a day that is meaningful; it just baffles me why all these things should cost so much money! I am most likely going to be having a corset dress made for me (at way less than the usual wedding dress costs, and that I will actually wear again), and costumes will be optional. We're probably going to have comfort food instead of fancy typical "wedding" food, so that will help too.

I know things will come together alright in the end, but it is frustrating sometimes! Once we have a place, I'll be feeling a lot better about everything.
