Double retirement

Sep 21, 2010 21:08

Next Wednesday is my last work day. Unless I decide to be a WalMart greeter or something to bring in a little extra money. Otherwise, that's it. I've worked most of my life trying to avoid work. Now I can retire and I can not only quit working, but I can also quit avoiding it. Double retirement as I see it.

So what are you going to do with yourself? I know when this job runs out, I'll probably retire but I cannot imagine how I will fill the time.

I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I'm a tinkerer so I'll just find stuff or sleep a lot (not). I've managed thru some very boring times so I'm pretty sure I can fill my days. Or there is always Walmart Greeter jobs to fall back on.

I will. As many projects as we already have and as fast as we keep thinking of new ones, I'm sure I'll stay busy and work harder than being employed, but it'll be much more satisfying.

You should be a Walmart Greeter and see how long you get away with saying "Fuck you for shopping at Walmart, have a nice day!" in a sweet and perky voice before they fire you.

As much as I mumble, I could probably get away with it for a good while.
