I rented a floor sander today for a couple of hours to go over the floor. It did a nice job, quick and easy since the floor was already stripped. Tomorrow I'll deal with the dark area with some peroxide plus take care of other places that need filling. I'll wait till after the weekend to start the staining and finishing. Monday 12/27 - Started FRFRP. I'm dividing the room in thirds and just moving the furniture around to free up one section at a time. We pulled up the carpet and removed the tack strips and staples. I've been having trouble with my desktop PC for some time. It had some disk errors that weren't easily fixable so I crossed my fingers and decided to hope it would work until I retired when I could have the time to work with it. One more day till I retire. Today has been very slow. I've only had 4 deliveries. If tomorrow is this slow, I probably won't last very long.
We leave for Hawaii next Monday so I'm not sure how many projects I'll get started on before leaving. Once we get back, then the reality of retirement starts kicking in.

Next Wednesday is my last work day. Unless I decide to be a WalMart greeter or something to bring in a little extra money. Otherwise, that's it. I've worked most of my life trying to avoid work. Now I can retire and I can not only quit working, but I can also quit avoiding it. Double retirement as I see it.

Big Butter Jesus is struck by lightning and burned to the ground. There could be a message here. Maybe God was serious about the graven image clause.

I got my hearing aids yesterday. I got them through the VA. There's no way I could ever afford them otherwise. They seem to be very high tech. The audiologist lady said it'll take about a week or 2 for me to get use to them.
